It’s that time of the year again! Schools are wrapping up, and many of us are preparing to travel. We can’t wait to welcome you back at the end of August! 😀 Before we grab our suitcases, we want to express our gratitude for a fantastic first half of the year. We’ve hosted some amazing events, with lots of community involvement and great results. Let’s take a quick trip down memory lane: |
In MARCH we celebrated International Women’s Day, where you helped us sponsor 80 Decathlon Vouchers for the women at the HOME shelter and pregnant teens at Babes. These vouchers provided them with the chance to acquire new sports gear and shoes, helping them work on their mental and physical health. Most importantly, it reminded them that they were not forgotten and that they mattered, even in challenging times. |
In APRIL we had our exciting orange events during the Kingsday week. We welcomed 70 new NCA supporters (Hey you!) and raised $5000 to support the children’s football teams within the Enabling Leadership program. Together with Vopak, we can now provide 60 under-served Singaporean children with the Life & Leadership skills they need for a brighter future. |
In MAY we hosted our first Preloved Fashion Event at the HOME shelter. It was a special occasion! We’ve never seen anything like it. Together with you and the support of local businesses, we collected 1200 items of clothes, shoes, jewelry, belts, bags, you name it. Even some designer items! We created the most extravagant ‘bazaar’ for them. It was so well received that we held a fashion show with the women a few days later. The women were eager to showcase their new outfits! |
Lastly, we had our annual Swim for Charity event in May. This is a beloved occasion for the children and teens of the NCA. The weather was fantastic, and the kids were excited to swim and support a good cause. This year, the raffle afterwards added extra excitement, as participants could win 2 tickets to Universal Studios. It was heartwarming to see all the happy faces and proud smiles of accomplishment after the event. This event helped us raise funds and awareness for New Life Stories - to support Singaporean children who have parents in prison. We are grateful to announce that the kids raised $2000 together for this good cause. |
