Who we are

Founded in 1968, NCA was originally created to bring the Dutch expatriate community together for a common cause - giving back to their host country. Over time, it has grown into an independent non-profit organisation that helps disadvantaged families, elderly residents, young underprivileged women, and even environmental causes. At NCA, we believe small acts of kindness can make big changes.

About us

The Netherlands Charity Association (NCA) is an independent, non-profit organization established in 1968 in Singapore. Its mission is to support underprivileged communities in Singapore by providing assistance and raising funds for carefully selected local charities and projects.

NCA focuses on helping individuals who are less privileged and may fall between the cracks of society. By leveraging its roots in the expatriate community, NCA aims to bridge the gap between expatriates and the less fortunate in Singapore.

The association supports various communities, including the elderly,

disadvantaged families and children, domestic helpers and young underprivileged women. For example, NCA has organized fundraising events for New Life Stories, the HOME shelter and Breadline Group like the NCA After Summer Welcome Back Party, Swim for Charity and the NCA CARE week in December.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, NCA adapted by organizing online events and selling tailor-made hiking books featuring various routes in Singapore to raise funds. These initiatives helped continue their support for local charities despite restrictions on in-person gatherings.

NCA also collaborates with other organizations to further its mission. For instance, in 2022, NCA partnered with the Waterways Watch Society (WWS), a non-profit dedicated to environmental conservation, to support their efforts in keeping Singapore's waterways clean.

Through these activities, the Netherlands Charity Association plays a significant role in giving back to the Singaporean community and fostering connections between expatriates and local residents.

Our Mission

Our mission

Did you know the Netherlands Charity Association (NCA) has been in Singapore for over 50 years? Our mission is simple yet impactful: supporting underprivileged communities, from elderly care to empowering women, environmental conservation, and more.

Helping Others Thrive

While Singapore is a thriving city, not everyone in Singapore has equal opportunities or access to essential support systems. There are still low-income families struggling to make ends meet, elderly individuals without family support, domestic workers escaping difficult situations, and environmental causes needing attention.

Our Role

The Netherlands Charity Association (NCA) exists to support underprivileged communities in Singapore by providing assistance and raising funds for carefully selected local charities, projects, and initiatives in Singapore.

Meaningful Connection

NCA is a bridge between the expatriate community and local causes. It provides a meaningful way for Dutch expats (and others!) to connect with Singapore beyond business and social circles - by giving back.

Vision

The NCA envisions a caring and inclusive society where underprivileged communities are supported and empowered, and where expatriates and locals collaborate to create meaningful, positive change.

Mission

NCA's mission is to give back to Singapore by supporting individuals who are less privileged and may fall between the cracks of society.
