We are Back - Looking back on the NCA Care Week 2022We took a little break, but we are back again! December was probably our busiest month last year. Full of festive activities and most importantly a very successful NCA Care Week. We were able to cherish the lives of many families, kids and elderly in Singapore and we are so proud of the things we were able to give back! A big shout out to all our sponsors, volunteers and others that made this Care Week a success! NCA Care Week 2022 was in support of the following charities: New Life Stories, Sparkle Care, HOME, Enabling Leadership, Breadline Group and in collaboration or made possible by the Hollandse Club, Holland International School, Dutch Drinks, BQ Bar, and the Friends of the NCA. If you love what we do, please continue supporting us and sign up for another year as NCA Friend. |
Here are the highlights of the NCA Care WeekHolland International School students decorated and generously filled over 150 shoe boxes with gifts, drawings and personally written letters, for the children of New Life Stories, a charity in Singapore that aims to provide for children of incarcerated parents. Also very special was the delivery of these meaningful gifts directly to the children from New Life Stories, by some of the HIS students in person. On the 25th of November, the NCA 'Swim for Charity' event took place at the Hollandse Club, an afternoon filled with dedicated swimmers of all ages who swam more laps than ever before. Together we raised $2200 SGD for the Breadline Group which was spent on food packages for 50 local families in need. That same evening "Dutch Drinks" organised the NCA 'Drinks & Donate' event in conjunction with the World Cup match between the Netherlands and Ecuador at BQ Bar. The evening resulted in more than $1200 SGD in donations which was used to serve a Christmas Dinner on the 24th of December for the beneficiaries of HOME. H.O.M.E. provides assistance, shelter and food for domestic workers who experience abuse and exploitation. On the 29th of November we invited "Friends of the NCA" for a 'Meet & Wrap' evening to meet other friends of the NCA while supporting our NCA volunteers in wrapping our famous NCA memory game for seniors of the Sparkle Care foundation. Together we managed to wrap 680 memory games for the elderly in senior homes to support mental stimulation and their memories. |
With our 'Books for Charity' Donation Drive hosted at the Hollandse Club, we managed to collect 250 pre-loved books which were then lovingly wrapped by Dutch Teens from our community during a fun and meaningful wrapping session the same evening at the Hollandse Club. All for New Life Stories. On the 3rd of December, team members of Vopak and the NCA played a fun friendly match with the participating kids from the Just for Kicks program. It was a day filled with fun and it was also great to see all this talent and enthusiasm and kids showing their new football skills. We are very much looking forward to next year, when we have the honour to welcome many more into the 'Just for Kicks' program! We ended the NCA Care Week with a Big Bam. On the 10th of December we invited all NCA supported charities to thank them for their endless efforts throughout the year for the less privileged in Singapore. This NCA 'Charity Appreciation Dinner' was also attended by none other than Olympic champion Joseph Schooling, the guests enjoyed a dinner prepared by 'The CraZy Afghan' and served by our very own Teens on a Mission. We proudly look back on a wonderful conclusion to the very successful NCA Care Week 2022. |
