Lee Ah Mooi Home
Why old age home LEE AH MOOI?
The Lee Ah Mooi Home was set up in the mid 1960s by late Madam Lee Ah Mooi, mother of the current managers. She sacrificed 2 rooms in her house (Teck Whye kampung) to take in the old folks. However, soon neighbours disliked the idea and they were forced to move. Then they found a bungalow at Sembawang but again, the number of beds she could accommodate was limited. Finally they moved to Thomson Road. The home at Thompson was acquired in 1984 with the support of the late Mr. Lim Keng San, known for his achievement in the Public Housing programme in Singapore. Lee Ah Mooi Home has been located there ever since. The home is self funded and managed by the two sons, Mr. Then Mun Wah and Mr. Then Mun Tat. They hope to carry on the legacy of Madam Lee Ah Mooi in providing affordable and quality nursing care services to the elderly Singapore population. For more information please visit their website.
We have been privileged with the sponsoring of soaps, shampoos and lotions from Unilever and are very thankful that we were able to help the Lee Ah Mooi home with these personal care items.
