The NCA supports many small charities in Singapore
Our main charity is the Breadline group. They work hard to lighten the burden of families in need. We have been supporting them for a long time and the bulk of our donations go to this group.
Other important dependants are our students at the Polytechnic in Singapore.
There is a long waiting list (more than 1000 students) at the Polytechnic for bursaries or scholarships. The NCA has decided in 2007 to increase her support to students at the Polytechnic from 3 to 5 students. The only qualification we ask for is that the total family income is below S$1,000 a month. The NCA pays their school fee of $2100 annually.
HOME also depends on the NCA for donations. Over the last two years they have not only received donations from the NCA but also S$50,000 from the Dutch Human Rights Fund.
There are also smaller charities depending on the NCA for a donation each year. These are “The Good Shepherd” and “SILRA”. More information on these under the local support tab.
Furthermore the NCA would like to emphasize that the committee members are volunteers and do not receive any payment nor do they receive compensation for expenses!
